The Child team has been historically named for developing the CHILDdb web portal. A major milestone for us last year was completing development and handing the web portal over to Simon Fraser University (SFU) for ongoing maintenance.

The major expertise gained while developing the CHILDdb web portal includes web development, data management and contract software development. We will continue to use these skills by shifting our focus to the IMiC Database web portal to support the International Milk Composition Consortium (IMiC). Originally established in 2020, IMiC aims to to develop a harmonized approach to human milk analysis by bringing together statistical experts with maternal-child health and human milk researchers.

Another upcoming major activity for our team will be supporting the Interfaces team for the transition to Epic at the University Health Network (UHN) for the Synapse project. This effort will advance the approach and delivery of patient care, education and research through the effective implementation of a new health information system.
